Himachal Pradesh University, on realizing the need of trained library personnel in the country, set up a new Department of Library and Information Science in the year 2020. The Department initiated with two-degree courses namely Bachelor of Library and Information Science (1-Year /two semester Course) and Master of Library and Information Science (1-Year /two semester Course) from the academic session (2020-21).
