- Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in the subject of Geography to holders of master’s degree in the subject. The candidates have to pass two courses, one in research methodology and another in recent issues in the philosophy of geography, in addition to writing a dissertation in a field of specialization available in the department faculty.

- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in the specializations available in the department’s faculty (viz. Natural resource management, geomorphological issues, watershed management, social geography, population geography, regional development etc.)specially for study areas located in the Himalayas or Himachal Pradesh.
- One year Advanced P.G. Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS: The department had started this diploma from the academic session 2009. However, due to some circumstances it has been kept in abeyance from academic session-2019.
