Master of Commerce (M.Com)

Master of Commerce is a Two Years Course in Four Semesters. Admission is made on the basis of Entrance Examination in the Post Graduate Course (M.Com.). In average, every year, 1800 to 2000 candidates apply for admission and on the basis of merit in Entrance Examination, students are admitted as per the number of seats. The intake in M.Com. is 56 (40 Subsidized, 4 EWS, 5 Non-subsidized, 3 wards of University employees, 2 Single Girl Child and 2 Residents from Jammu & Kashmir). The seats vary subject to the approval of Vice-chancellor or modifications as per the directions of Government or Universities Grants Commission.

Doctor of Philosophy in Commerce (Ph. D.)

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the research program consisting of Course Work to be qualified by the students initially followed by pursuing research on a specified research topic.  Knowing the importance of universities being the institutions of higher learning by promoting and conducting researches, having research based experienced teaching faculty, Department of Commerce has tremendously contributed to encourage research activities. On an average, every month there is some achievement of completion of the research work by Ph.D. student. Admissions in Ph.D. program are made twice in the year based upon the number of vacancies with the supervisors i.e. teaching faculty members. The criteria for admission is in accordance to the UGC Guidelines and as per the standing direction.
