VISAKA: Shilpa Bhatia (M.A. Hindi) and Vijay Sharma (B.A. VI Sem.) were honoured for outstanding contribution by Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon'ble Minister for Human Resource Development and Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon'ble Minister for Electronics and Information Technology at the National VISAKA Convention held on 8 March 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Shilpa Bhatia was given the honour of addressing the Convention as one of the Best Five volunteers in India.

Saanjh Baati: A forum for literary activities by the Faculty of Languages was formed by the name of Saanjh Baati. The first event, Lekhak se Miliye featured eminent Hindi writer S. R. Harnot on 05 April 2017.

Career Counselling: A Special Talk on “Career Avenues as Company Secretary” was organised by the Department of Commerce. Lectures were delivered by Sh. Arun Sharma, Company Secretary, SJVNL, Shimla and Sh. Chandan Kr Chandra, In Charge, Shimla Chapter of ICSI on 7 April 2017.

A Special Lecture on “Significance of Gender Sensitization among the Youth” was organized by HPU Centre for Evening Studies on 2nd August 2017. Ms Shubhra Tiwari Hira, IPS, AIG, Police Headquarters, Shimla was invited as Guest Speaker.

An Anti-Ragging programme was organized by HPU Centre for Evening Studies on 2nd August 2017.

Swachhta Abhiyan: Cleanliness drive was undertaken on 8 April and 8 August 2017.

A special Independence Day programme featuring the students of HPUCES was broadcast by All India Radio on 15 August 2017. The theme of the programme was “Yeh India ka Time Hai”.

SCA Oath: The Students’ Central Association was administered the oath of office on 8 Sept 2017.

Hindi Divas: A quiz competition on Hindi literature and language was held on the occasion of Hindi Divas on 14 Sept 2017.
